Subject: [#SRX05027] Using Formats with Drop Down List Questions

Is it possible to use a format as the value list for a drop down list question? I have an initials field that is on most of the screens in the database, and I want to maintain this list by updating a format. I also want to keep the capability of being able to delete data once entered. The drop down list is also preferred by data entry staff since it automatically advances without having to hit return. I am currently using the format as the list and using the drop down combo question type. Thanks for your help and please let me know if you need more info.

    Hi John,

Yes, you can use a format to populate this. If you populate the object with the format, then you have to use a trick to add a blank item at the top of the list. Here is what you do.

Test the screen – a blank should be at the top of the list box.
